The NS series of linear guides are a more compact version of the NSK NH series. The carriages have a lower mounting height than the NH series and Short carriages with two mounting holes are available for applications with limited space.
The NS series has replaced the discontinued LS series. NSK have retained all of the best features of the LS series and have also made some improvements. The NS and LS series are 100% interchangeable.
Ideally suited to vertical movements as the contact angle is set at 50 degrees resulting in a high load carrying capacity and rigidity in the vertical direction.
High resistance against impact load due to the shape and orientation of the ball grooves.
High self-aligning capability in the rolling direction because the cross point of the contact lines of the balls and grooves comes inside and thus reducing moment rigidity.
ACCURACY AND PRELOAD
The NS series is available in a number of different accuracy and preload combinations for various applications including ultra-precision P3. The need for special high accuracy and preloads will depend on the application requirements. Due to the production techniques used by NSK in most applications standard products offer more than enough accuracy and preload.
NSK K1 lubrication units can be equipped to this series of linear guide. They are attached to both sides of the carriage and are made of a porous synthetic resign containing large volumes of lubricating oil that seeps out during the movement of the carriage on the rail. This has the benefit of reducing maintenance costs compared to a conventional lubricating system.
